CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) numbers are used to make it simpler for people to find the relevant health testing on dogs. Capra is:
* BAER hearing positive/normal in both ears * Penn Hip 0.34/0.33 (better than average for the breed, low risk of dysplasia) * Eyes normal * Heart normal * Hyperuricosuria LUA/hua carrier of the normal gene * Negative for ARDS, Degenerative Myelopathy, Von Willebrands, cone degeneration * Free of Lemon, Long Hair
The five puppies have their spots! In the next week or so we should have initial stack photos and be able to watch their reaction to sound - an initial screening for whether anyone is deaf. Right now they all appear to have baby-grey-turning-dark eyes (brown, or in the case of the liver boy, amber).
The puppies are now 13 days old. The top row of boys we do not yet have DNA test results, but the bottom row, two girls on the leftt and the boy on the right are confirmed HUA. The left girl is heavily spotted on her face and ears. The center girl and all the boys appear to have pleasingly open spotting, so far. As you can see, trim is complete or nearly so on everyone already.
